Hi,
I just install 2006-01-RC4 and netcardconfig replies no network devices found.
I have an Asus AV8 motherboard with a Marvel onboard NIC. The mobo also has RT2500 wifi which I tried with ndsiwrapper but no luck. Then disabled the onboard NIC and put a generic one in an open PCI slot. netcardconfig still says no network devices found.
ethernet connections work on all other partitions containing suse 10.1, edgy eft, sabayon, xp, and vista.
is there something I need to do to manually add the NIC? |

are you behind a router?
if not, try My PPoE Config from k-menu - kanotix - network - DSL

I'm actually behind two routers. A Westell DSL modem/router and a Belkin wireless router, but Kanotix is the only OS on my system that doesn't auto detect the network connection.  |

Thanks I think I fixed the problem. I rebooted the computer and it worked. I think I accidentally chose failsafe the first time because after the reboot netconfig found all three NICs
