Titel: log in problem

1st go- After entering passwd, as user 1k, it stops in peripherals of splash screen; then back to welcome screen.
2nd go- If 1k tries to log in again then it stops in system services of splash scr and back to welcome
More attempts, always as 2nd one-
If user 0 logs in, all ok. If 0 ends session and 1k logs in, then no problem.

I did an "upgrade" because I had some problems with klik software, audio synthesizers. After "upgrading" all seemes ok but this above fault. Where do I start troubleshooting? Tks! |

| Did U Install Yahoo Mesenger ?, Install YM and make it autostart when log-in can cause that problem,, |

Thank you for your suggestion. I didn't install YM. Also, I almost forgot about that fault as I did a new installation and got rid of that. So I cannot troubleshoot anymore. Anyway, thanks again!

As I did a new installation, I got rid of that, but I'm going to keep your info for future ref.

Is this the problem you are having ? IMHO I would do a dist-upgrade instead of a "upgrade"
dbus 0.62-1 leads to looping kdm
But then again this might not be your problem, if not visit #kanotix and I am sure someone will figure it out, if this is already resolved, please ignore me
