Hi,

hab da ein Problem mit fix-fonts und zwar läuft es auf meinem Server nimmer... d.h. nach irgendeinemd dist-upgrade wars ganz weg... habs dann halt per apt-get install fix-fonts neuinstalliert... und es kommen nur noch viele Directory not found Meldungen...
Irgendne Möglichkeit das zu fixen?

Die Fonts selber sind aber installiert, und zwar die 100dpi- und 75dpi-Fonts als Unterordner hier:
/usr/share/fonts/X11

Die Cyrillic-Fonts als Unterordner hier:
/usr/share/fonts/type1

Ansonsten gibt es keine weiteren Ordner, in denen die Fonts sind oder in denen sich Links zu den Fonts befinden.

es gibt /usr/X11R6 mit einem symlin bin auf /usr/bin, wo wiederum ein symlink X11 auf /usr/bin existiert.
ich steig da im moment nicht mehr durch, sollte vielleich mal ein organigramm anlegen Winken

Bei mir war /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts ein Verzeichnis, ich habe daraus einen Symlink gemacht, und jetzt geht's auch:

# mv /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts.original

# ln -s /usr/share/fonts/X11 /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts

Habe ich gerade auf dem HP hier auf Arbeit durchgeführt, und fix-fonts läuft perfekt durch. Bis jetzt die einfachste Lösung.

damit hab ich das Problem auf meinem Laptop beheben können... -> THX...

nur was ist mit meinem Server? Da kommen ja extrem viele (Fehler)Meldungen... jemand ne Idee?

wenn ich bei mir fix-fonts laufen lasse kommt folgender Ablauf:
root@antec:/usr/lib/X11/fonts# fix-fonts.sh
ttf processing... /usr/share/fonts

ttf processing... /usr/share/fonts/truetype/latex-xft-fonts
ttf processing... /usr/share/fonts/truetype/openoffice

ttf processing... /usr/share/fonts/ttf/decoratives
pcf processing... /usr/share/fonts/X11/100dpi

die Fehlermeldungen der vorherigen Nutzer habe ich nach den obigen Anweisungen beseitigen können. Nur für die jetzt noch vorhandene Warnung habe ich noch nichts gefunden, es muss da wohl noch ein Link bestehen den ich leider nicht ermitteln kann.
Hat jemand eine Lösung?

zunächst vielen Dank für den Hinweis. Noch schneller kann keiner reagieren, aber bei der Durchführung kommt der folgende Hinweis:
root@antec:/etc/X11/fonts# apt-get install --reinstall xfonts-75dpi
Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig
Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut... Fertig
0 aktualisiert, 0 neu installiert, 1 erneut installiert, 0 zu entfernen und 0 nicht aktualisiert.
Es müssen 3470kB Archive geholt werden.
Nach dem Auspacken werden 0B Plattenplatz zusätzlich benutzt.
Möchten Sie fortfahren [J/n]?
Hole:1 http://ftp.de.debian.org unstable/main xfonts-75dpi 1:1.0.0-2 [3470kB]
Es wurden 3470kB in 19s geholt (178kB/s)

das ist der gleiche Ort wie bei der fix-fonts Fehlermeldung, ist das ein Hinweis?
Vieleicht kriege ich das ja doch noch weg.

habe unter
/etc/X11/fonts/X11R7 das Verzeichnis "75dpi" nach .../fonts kopiert.
Danach war die Fehlermeldung
"warning: /etc/X11/fonts/75dpi does not exist or is not a directory"
bei fix-fonts nicht mehr vorhanden.

Da müsste ein Symlink eigentlich genauso gehen. Ganz blicke ich noch nicht durch, was die Umstellung auf xorg7 so anstellte:
