          | First, let me say that I'm very happy to see that Kanotix is back. It's been missed greatly.
I just downloaded and installed 2007 RC6. Almost everything I've looked at so far seems to be working as it should. Congratulations Kano!!

But of course, there is a problem. It may be the video card, beryl, or maybe it's just an operator malfunction. Unsally I suspect the latter because I missed something I shouldn't have. Nevertheless, I need help.

I installed the nvidia driver (Nvidia 7600gs video card) using the Kanotix kde control module. After logging out and later rebooting I could not get select Beryl as the window manager. Kwin is the only choice the Beryl manager will let me have. What have I done wrong?

 Guidance will be greatly appreciated.

          | I guess the tool accidently started it with -c option, as I reversed the meaning Composite might be off. Login to vt1 (ctrl-alt-f1) and run:
 update-scripts-kanotix.sh
 install-nvidia-debian.sh

That way you will always get latest drivers - I guess they update it soon. Also you can even install nvidia in live mode using

 nvidia

cheatcode (fglrx would be for ati cards).

          | Thanks Kano!!! You can mark this one as solved.
I now have a cube which turns, gets transparent when I want it to , and does all that other stuff which makes Beryl such great eye candy.

Hopefully compiz-fusion will make all that eye candy even better (eventually).
