Hello. I am tired of only watching YouTube, I want to post some content as well. I am using a poor man's install of Kanotix, though I also have access to a hard disk install, as well as a very buggy copy of Windows98SE and assorted other livecds including dynebolic. Any ideas on either webcams or camcorders and using them with Linux? Can I do this with any livecd out there?

Any live cd? Well that's a broad question. Firewire cameras work great in Linux. If you intend on buying a camera that's the route I personally would go. Then use Kino (for example) to grab the video from your camera. Alot of USB cameras work fine w/ Linux but generally give very low frame rates. You can use an analog camera connected through something like a BTTV card but it's tricky to get the audio since the bttv cards don't actually have a digitizer onboard.
