Hallo,
nach Lennysierung von Thorhammer RC 7 meldet Grub 0.97
graphics file "(hd 0,5)/boot/message missing, press a key to continue
/boot/message ist ein Link und verweist auf boot.hd und die Datei fehlt wirklich. Wie bekomme ich eine boot.hd (muss ja wohl eine Grafikdatei sein) ?

gar nicht, musst grub2 installieren:
grub-install /dev/sda
