Well, come on guys, You gotta hand it too em.. The audacity of it all
Maybe wealthy Linux advocate(s) should hit them right back with a "Get the Lies" advert on MSN website. The full Flash experiance, no messing!

Well, if you object, send the edtior a letter... as I did below.
Why are you running an MS 'get the facts' adv. on Linux-Mag? If it were
just a plain old adv. for Windows I would not mind. But the GTF
campaign is simply FUD. You should know better.
You lost me as a reader.

I guess you could look at it this way. Linux is taking MS money, knowing good and well that most people that run Linux will not switch (or switch back) to MS. It's kinda like laughing in Bill's face, saying "gotcha".

same thing on linuxplanet.com too

Well M$ advertising on Linux sites is nothing new. Alot of ads come from an ad server over which linux mag has no control. I did not however get to see this M$ ad since I use a niftly little Firefox tool called Adblock. In fact, I almost never see any kind of ads ever. I forget they even exist. Couple this with Flashblock (which still allows flash to play IF you click the button) and you have a very pleasant web browsing experience.

I think it's irritating for linux-oriented sites to have these ads, but as I understand it, they get included because they aren't screened beforehand by the site administrators or whoever is responsible for what appears. A dim memory of this (from another forum) tells me that there is an obligation on their part to include things from clients or sponsors of a particular website to blithely include whatever they submit. Yet another example of MS's far-reaching, & devious, arm to dispense misinformation & propaganda.
