I finally got the intel w3945 to connect after hours of running the wizard. but it does not hold the systems and I have to re run the wizard in order to get the wireless running
any ideas

Update to latest kernel 2.6.18 oder wait for Kanotix-2006-01-RC4.

Latest kernels are here, to install the kernel you can follow the directions from here
